Hi, I'm Julia
I started growing my first baby in 2013, just a few months before I finished up my master’s degree in maternal and child health. I fondly remember the sweetness of feeling him grow inside me and the wonder and joy with which I approached his birth. I also remember wondering if I could do it (all of it) and yearning for community in this new phase of life.
In the decade since my first steps into motherhood, I’ve learned the value in trusting your instincts, accepting and giving support, and seeing each baby as the whole and unique person they are. Now, as a mother of four, student midwife, doula, and La Leche League leader I find some of my deepest joy in supporting women as they transition to motherhood.
My philosophy centers around the knowledge that birth is perfectly designed by nature to prime both mother and baby to bond and thrive in one another’s arms and that birth can and should be powerfully transformative.
